I've never seen "24," but I have to say, I agree with your analysis. Taking people out should be on the regular to-do list along with "mowing the lawn" and "getting a haircut."
Also, I think that Miss Manners would agree with me that the polite thing to do is use a silencer. That way you don't disturb the neighbors.
